Highlights

Medical
Draper offers two Harvard Pilgrim Health Care plans, a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), and the MIT Traditional Health Plan.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care HMO
In this plan, you select a primary care physician (PCP) who coordinates all of your health care, including referrals to specialists and decisions on hospitalization. You pay a small co-payment for most services.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care PPO
This plan offers a network of physicians, hospitals, and other providers throughout the US that contract with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care to provide care at a reduced fee. Though you may choose to select a Primary Care Physician (PCP), you are not required to coordinate your care through this physician. If you use non network benefits, your expense will be subject to a deductible and coinsurance.

MIT Traditional Health Plan
This plan provides care through a staff of more than 100 health professionals representing more than 40 medical specialties and based at two offices (in Cambridge and Lexington). With this plan, you select a PCP who coordinates your care; however, referrals are not required for appointments with most on-site specialists. Most care within the plan is covered in full, with no co-payments. Services are not available outside the plan except as arranged by your PCP or in cases of emergency.

Dental
Draper offers a choice of two Dental Plans, Delta Premier USA or DeltaCare.

Delta Premier with National Coverage
This plan is a traditional fee-for-service plan. You have the freedom to go to whomever you want to get the dental care you need. In Massachusetts there are approximately 5,000 dentists – more than 95% of all practicing dentists – who participate in the network.

DeltaCare
DeltaCare is a managed care plan that operates much like an HMO, focusing on prevention and maintaining good oral health. Each family member can choose a different primary care dentist. DeltaCare provides 100% coverage for most diagnostic and preventative dental services when you use a network provider. Other services require co-payments and laboratory fees based upon a fixed schedule. A $1,000 calendar year maximum applies on some network and non-network specialty services.

Vision
Services are available nationwide through the Davis Vision Care plan.. The cost of coverage is fully paid by employees on a pretax basis. Services such as routine eye exams, including dilation as professionally indicated, and a complete pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses (most types) in lieu of eyeglasses are covered at 100% once every 12 months.

Flexible Spending Accounts
FSAs provide an opportunity to save money on a pretax basis for out-of-pocket health care or dependent care expenses. With an FSA, you set aside money from your pay before taxes are calculated. When you incur eligible expenses, you file a claim and are reimbursed from your account. You have the option of having your FSA reimbursements deposited directly into your bank account.

Life Insurance
You can elect an amount up to three times your salary.

Short-Term Disability
Provides up to 6 months income if you become disabled and are unable to work

Long-Term Disability
Provides up to 60% of your monthly base salary if you are totally disabled beyond 6 months

Long-Term Care
Long-term care insurance helps protect against a potentially large financial loss if you and/or your spouse are unable to care for yourself due to chronic illness, injury, or the effects of aging. LTC insurance covers not only qualified nursing home care but also in-home care and adult day care. LTC insurance is an employee-pay-all, after-tax benefit.

Pension Plan
Upon participation in the plan, the Laboratory contributes an amount equal to 10% of your base salary to the plan. Draper also offers a voluntary Supplemental Retirement Annuity Plan to enable you to set aside additional savings on a tax-deferred basis.
