Draper “Engineering Possibilities 2016” showcases technology investments that push the boundaries of the possible

CAMBRIDGE, MA – How do engineers train robots to work safely with humans? How can cancer therapy be customized for each patient? How can we improve life in space for astronauts? Answers to these questions and many others will be displayed at EP16.

EP16 is open to the public October 5–7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at One Hampshire Street in Cambridge. This technology showcase features innovative projects, highlighting a wide range of Draper-funded engineering research and development efforts. EP16 exhibits prototypes and interactive multimedia experiences. Attendees have the opportunity to engage Draper engineers regarding cutting-edge technologies—technologies that, if successful, will improve lives, change industries and push the boundaries of what is possible.

EP16 will spark the interest and imagination of attendees from technical experts to members of the general public who want a sneak peek into the future of technology.

Kaigham J. Gabriel, President and CEO, remarked, "Hosting EP16 provides a unique opportunity for our peers, our community and the public to learn about how we approach the world’s most complex and important technological problems. Chances are without knowing it, you and those you know have been positively affected by Draper technologies. Our technologies are applied broadly—keeping our troops safe, exploring space, developing breakthrough tissue engineering technology and addressing escalating cyber threats. Draper is strongly committed to delivering working solutions to the most pressing global challenges.”

No reservation is required to visit EP16 during public hours: Wednesday-Friday, Oct. 5-7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EP16 also hosts a meetup, A Night @Engineering Possibilities 2016 on October 7 at 6 p.m.; please RSVP to reserve a space. Draper is a ten-minute walk from the Kendall/MIT subway station. Parking, for a fee, is available at many nearby lots, including in the Technology Square Garage, Technology Square, Cambridge, Mass.
