Draper “Engineering Possibilities 2018” Explores Innovations That Succeed Even under the Most Relentless Conditions
CAMBRIDGE, MA—If you’ve been secretly wanting to be an explorer in outer space (or inner space), this October might give you your lucky break. Innovations to operate in those and other challenging environments and more will be on display at EP18, Draper’s annual technology showcase.
EP18 is open to the public Oct. 3–6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 555 Technology Square in Cambridge. Visitors to EP18 will be offered a behind the scenes look at the bold solutions Draper’s engineers and scientists have developed—from sensors to help self-driving cars “see” to a sensor for detecting microplastics in the ocean—and be invited to immerse themselves in interactive demonstrations and meet the experts at the vanguard of technology.
EP18 will spark the interest and imagination of attendees from technical experts to members of the general public who want a sneak peek into the future of technology. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage Draper engineers regarding breakthrough technologies—technologies that, if successful, will improve lives, change industries and push the boundaries of what is possible.
Kaigham J. Gabriel, President and CEO, remarked, “Draper celebrates innovation at EP18 and we invite the community to join us. You can try your hand at the capabilities our diverse team of engineers and scientists are delivering in some of the most challenging environments, from sampling an asteroid in deep space to manufacturing tools for cancer therapies. Bring your curiosity—we look forward to seeing you.”
No reservation is required to visit EP18 during public hours: Wednesday-Saturday, Oct. 3-6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Draper is a ten-minute walk from the Kendall/MIT subway station. Parking, for a fee, is available at many nearby lots, including in the Technology Square Garage, Technology Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. On Saturday, Oct. 6, which is Family Day at EP18, free parking will be available to attendees of EP18 in Draper’s garage.
