Draper hosts first MassMEDIC Women in MedTech Networking and Leadership Forum Event of 2019

CAMBRIDGE, MAAs technology continues to drive the pace of progress in biomedical devices and precision medicine, the traditional line between engineering and medical science grows ever thinner. And as medical machines and the computers that power them become smaller, faster and smarter, the medical device industry is making medical practice easier for doctors, more effective for patients and more cost-effective for the entire healthcare system.

For a sense of how these trends are manifesting themselves today, Draper will sponsor and host the MassMEDIC Women in MedTech Networking and Leadership Forum, 9 to 11 a.m., Feb. 26, at One Hampshire St., Cambridge, MA. The event will feature guest speaker Mary Anne Heino, president and chief executive officer, Lantheus Medical Imaging, Inc.

Tara Clark, vice president of commercial business at Draper, remarked, “Draper celebrates innovation in biomedical technologies and invites the community to join us. The event will provide attendees an opportunity to network with each other and engage Draper engineers regarding eight biomedical technologies—technologies that are designed to improve lives, change industries and push the boundaries of what is possible.

Anthony Coston, head of medical devices at Draper and a MassMEDIC board member, commented, “The biomedical world is shifting, and the emphasis is on an applied research and product development model that gets devices and therapies to patients, clinicians and biopharma companies sooner.
