Draper Awarded $109 Million for Navy Trident II Weapons Systems Contract

CAMBRIDGE, MA—Draper has been awarded $109.5 million to provide technical support and research into the guidance, navigation and control applications to be used in the Trident II weapons system.

The award, which is a modification to an existing contract, was announced recently by the Department of Defense.

The Trident II weapons system is the primary strategic deterrent for both the U.S. and the U.K. As the U.S. Navy’s strategic guidance prime contractor, Draper has designed and supported the guidance system for every fleet ballistic missile deployed since the program began in 1955.
