Draper Announces Appointment of Sarah Leeper to the National Defense Industrial Association

CAMBRIDGE, MA—Draper today announced that Sarah Leeper, principal director for Defense Systems, will serve as co-chair for the Electronics Division of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).

The National Defense Industrial Association is a trusted leader among the national security and defense communities and drives strategic dialogue between commercial and government organizations to identify key issues that face our nation and the global economy. The group leverages the knowledge and experience of its military, government, industry and academic members to develop strategies to address these challenges with the goal of improving the U.S. national security posture.

“At Draper, we believe that microelectronics are critical to executing missions successfully and key to U.S. national and economic security,” said Leeper. “As the supply chain grows in complexity and interdependency, resiliency becomes ever more important. NDIA is front and center in this charge and creates a collaborative forum for government and industry and supports an ecosystem for shaping policy and re-establishing the nation’s technology leadership in defense and national security. At Draper, we believe in contributing our voice and that by volunteering for organizations like NDIA, we are able to drive positive change.”

The mission of the Electronics Division of the NDIA is to lead the evaluation of current and future challenges, along with developing solutions to provide trusted and assured electronics, in particular for the U.S. Government. The Electronics Division provides a much-needed framework for the exchanges of information between the defense industry, commercial industry, and research centers from the R&D phase through manufacturing, all the way to deployment and end-user applications.
